I love so many of these ideas. The layers of IKEA mirrors. Using cornicing as shoe holders - perfect. The motorbike sure beats a chair to throw all discarded clothes over or? How far would you go? Sometimes less is more perhaps, it just depends on how fab your wardrobe is!

My black and white bedroom

Over at NIB Norwegian interior bloggers have been invited to choose something from their home that shows who they are. And I thought, why not join in here. My favourite little corner is one side of the bedroom. Ok I technically share it with my man but you can see that, umm, he didn't really have much of a say. (Poor guy!). I have so many treasured items, pictures of my family, presents from friends and nostalgic trinkets that tell a story that it's definitely a little corner of my world that I really love.

A little guide to where things are from: the black wallpaper and bedding is Designers Guild. The mirror is Graham & Green. The reading lamp is the IKEA +365 BRASA. The two little vintage apothecary bottles were a present from P's dad who's a doctor. And I found the Swedish Gustavian chest-of-drawers in their attic. The jewellery holder was a birthday present from my P (good man!). And no guesses where the Chanel No5 perfume was from! People are buying second hand perfume for lots at the moment for the lovely bottles so if you have one that you don't like the scent of and thinking of slinging it out, e-bay it instead!

Do you have an area of your home you feel is truly yours and represents you?

Oh and also I've been looking for a pretty 'washed out' pink or lilac coloured throw for my bed - any tips? Or perhaps another colour - what do you think?

Tjeeeena! Hope you had a lovely weekend? My little three year old and I visited Hem & Villa, a house and home exhibition in Malmö. We had a great time, she because she got a sweet at every stand, me because I love spending the day with my gal AND I got some home inspiration at the same time! Peeerfect. This calm Monday morning I'm taking inspiration from some of these beautiful calm, serene spaces. Pastels are the shades du jour, and I couldn't welcome them more this spring!

Iiiiiiit's Friday. Woop woop! And to celebrate I have to show you a beautiful all white Oslo home recently on the market. Those of you who know me well, know I looooove an white home. But this tiny (61 metre square) apartment also ticks all the other boxes of things I love too. Vintage. Fireplaces. Touches of Scandinavian modern. Wooden beams. And an open wardrobe. Luckily for my man this place has already been sold or we'd be packing for Norway!

Dreaming of escape to this very cool and very beautiful hotel, La Maison Pujol in Provence, France this morning. I visited Provence last year. Oh how I wish I'd stayed in this bed and breakfast packed with vintage pieces and a great touch of modern industrial. The only problem is I might still be there. The Melbourne home of an illustrator and vintage bargain hunter

I spotted this Melbourne home of illustrator Paula Mills over at the great, well known blog Design Sponge. When I saw it, I knew I had to have it, eh hem, I mean share it. I can't tell you how much I love the home-owners' style. The wonderful wall displays, the vintage finds from around the globe, the pops of colour, the white backdrop. Everything is spot on and apparently this is only the beginning.

I'm so happy it's Friday! Today I'm off with my little girls and we're planning on going out and doing lots of fun things. But first, I couldn't resist publishing this charming Finnish log cabin decorated in black and white and crammed with vintage finds. Oh how I wish I had a country home like this. A modern retreat in the Swiss Alpes

Hej hej! Sometimes, when it feels like winter is never going to end the only thing you can do is embrace it. And this is what I would do if I stayed at this chalet dug into the mountain side in Switzerland. Designed by Peter Zumthor of SeARCH and CMA it sleeps 9 and is completely heated by green energy from a local dam. Skiing anyone?!

A lovingly renovated Norwegian home dating back to the 1800's.

Morning! It's beautifully sunny here today and the sea is iced over as far as the eye can see BRRRRR! So cosiness (and charm) is the order of the day and this home has oodles of it! It's the renovated home of blogger Monica Bromseth of Karlottes Hjem and her family in Norway. Built in the 1800's the house has so much history, once the home of the community's first midwife, it has also been the village post office and a general store! If walls could tell stories, this home could write a library!

Hej and happy Friday! Today I love this home. Of course cos it's white, yes. (Tell me honestly, do I publish too many white homes?! I think maybe I do..:). But also because it's full of surprises. At a distance it looks like a classic white rustic /shabby chic space but look closer and there are lots of gems. From vintage industrial Tolix stools, to deco chairs and modern bulb lighting. Hej hej! Today I'm admiring this cool apartment in Gothenburg which is currently for sale (snap it up why don't you?!). According to La Maison D'Anna G blog it's the home of design store and very cool web shop Aschebergsgatan 29 owners, where you can buy many of the items you see in their home. Dangerous! I love all the colours they have used and would love a 'filt cross' orange blanket like the one on the bed.

Vintage and mid-century drinks trolleys for a refreshing Valentine's Day!

Hellooo! And happy Valentine's day ♥♥♥ Any romantic plans? Me, I was thinking of enjoying a refreshing glass or two with my man. Which got me thinking. There's been so much inspiration lately on beautiful vintage drinks trolleys. We were given a fab mid-century drinks trolley ♥♥♥ by my parents-in-law a few year's ago and I finally got around to photographing it. Sadly it doesn't carry any cocktail hour specials!

My Scandinavian Home

A quick guide to wear things are from....the chrome Dreyfuss 500 phone is from Graham and Green. The plant is a Corokia Silver Ghost which I once wrote a post about here. I bought the pot and plant from Gouteva in Malmö. My stack of magazines are all past editions of Elle Decoration UK. The cushions in the chair are from Designer's Guild and the black and white throw is called VILMIE RUND from IKEA. Sometimes mid-century drinks trolley's pop up at Lauritz. You're so welcome to pin these pics.

A serene, white home with vintage pieces

Morning! I must say, I feel like a different person this morning after my wonderful weekend at Varberg Asia Spa. If you're in need of some R&R I could seriously recommend this incredible spa in Varberg, Halland on the Swedish West coast (do the over night package!). As a result, here's a beautiful, white, serene home from the UK which perfectly fits my mood this Monday morning. I love the vintage touches and Scandinavian feel (of course!). I recognise the kitchen from the Delicious Miss Dahl cookery show featuring former model Sophie Dahl.

It's Friiiiiiiday! YAY! And to celebrate I thought I'd post the beautiful home of stylist Virginie Denny and artist Alfonso Vallés. If you love Elle Decoration UK or are an avid interior design blog reader you'll have seen this home, in a former 1920's button factory, before. There's even a You Tube clip of it! But I just couldn't resist sharing the pictures again for the weekend! There are so many great colours, vintage finds and 'green' touches. A wonderful piece of art in itself!

Last Saturday I was invited to a viewing of the spring / summer 2012 collection from Danish brand Tine K Home at their Swedish showroom in Magasin 36, Höganäs. I had such a lovely time and LOVED the new Tine K Home collection. You must check it out at the online shop, if you're like me you'll really like the mix of greys and whites. LUSH! It was also wonderful to meet the Tine K Home team - thank you Anita, Tine, Stine, and Sanna!

It's Frrrrrrrriday!! And here's a DIY project to look forward to over the weekend perhaps? The bloggers from IKEA's Livet Hemma have made this set of circular and square shelves from IKEA's NÄSUM Kista Bananfiber baskets! A DIY take on the Finnish company Muuto's circular shelving system? Incidentally a friend of mine has the Muuto graphite version in her little girls bedroom and they look super cool.

So, an interesting apartment today. And I think, the first home I've posted from Sweden's second largest city, Gothenburg. Perhaps not everyone's cup of tea, but personally I love the pale pink and green colour combination and have a bit of a weakness for romantic wallpaper. What do you think?

A beautifully renovated parsonage in the Swedish countryside

This parsonage from the 1700's and featured in Lantliv had been uninhabited for fifty years. And then Gustaf Willers took it over and gave it a whole new lease of life. I absolutely love that he has stayed faithful to the style and the location but added a modern touch. I dream daily about buying a beautiful old Swedish house and renovating it. Perhaps one day i'll be posting about that? but for now, here's someone else's beauty!

There are so many lovely touches to the renovation, such as Gustaf's mother colouring in the 800 hand-printed flower baskets on the bedroom wallpaper by hand. Now that's dedication! Makes me think. The latest Plaza magazine also proves this with the home of the blogger behind the great blog 'Hannas Room'.......

The home has such a lovely mix of furniture, with modern items from IKEA such as the MINNEN extendable children's bed (I've got it for my little girl in white and love it) and beautiful mid-century vintage pieces like the dining room chairs. The bulb fairy lights are likely from Swedish shop Granit as are the white storage boxes shown above. And look.....it's shoes on display again... wonderful!

It's Friiiiiiday - woop woop!! And Friday deserves to be celebrated with an extra special home to drool over throughout the weekend! This Antwerp home featured in Milk Magazine belongs to Melanie Ireland founder of children's clothing company Simple Kids. When they first bought the house they hired an architect (Vincent Van Duysen) to knock through walls for a lovely flow of light. I also love how they have treated the floors and filled the fireplace full of magazines! A beeeeautiful home!

It's interesting how they've placed the fridge partly in front of the blackboard, which you wouldn't necessarily think would work, but looks very cool. Ooooo and on a closer look the dining table is actually an old table with a glass surface. Now that's cool. So is the wood over the brick. And the concrete....aaaah, so many wonderful touches.

Seeing as I am in child bedroom mode today....the time has come when turning the entire sitting room into a 'camp' is just no longer viable - the tidying up! GRRR. but when I looked in the shops nothing seemed to fit. Then, today via wonderful blog Cakies I spied this idea (below) and think i've found the perfect solution. hello DIY project. hello pretty fabric.goodbye sofa camp. HURRAH!

Morning! There's nothing like a lovely children's room to brighten up the day. My little girls are only teeny (3 and 1!) and share a room (i thought it would be lovely for them to natter away after the lights have gone out). The problem is they've so many 'things'!! And we who love interior design know that lots of little things don't always make for a pretty room. but these delightful rooms show that there are ways to store and be practical and most importantly pretty!!!

From one extreme to the next this Monday! I don't know about in your country but sadly within an hour or so it'll be pitch black here. And do you know what?? Today i feel like celebrating that darkness by posting cosy spaces in black and wood, with a few vintage touches (of course!). Infact, one of my favourite belongings is a bone inlay mirror from the same shop which my husband and I received as a wedding present (yes, we have lovely friends!). despite the sombre tone I think this house is fab. I absolutely love the wooden floor, the beams and the mixed match furniture. And the Eames chairs, ooooh the Eames chairs. I think I *need* a yellow one! Lauritz is an excellent source for original vintage Eames chairs like these.

Happy Friday! Here in Sweden it's a bank holiday. YAAAY! But I am still thinking about work as I love this 1920's warehouse in Hackney, London, which is available to hire for shoots, exhibitions, parties etc through JJ Locations. OK, it's very minimalistic but could you imagine padding around here for the day with a production team? I particularly like the contrast between the dainty antique chairs and the vast industrial backdrop.

Wednesday DIY - simple cluster pendant lamp from IKEA

If you're looking for a new project to start 2012, how about this light? All you need is several IKEA SKURER plant pots and a few electrical cords. Drill a hole in the bottom of each plant pot and voila! A cluster pendent light like the one below! Thank you Plaza Interiors, for the inspiration.

The beauty of this light is that you can also just make one or two to hang over a table.
